TOG Summer Market Opens Thursday Evening: Many New Vendors & Entertainment

Our TOG summer farmers market is BACK! The market opens Thursday, June 19 from 4-7 p.m. and takes place each Thursday until September 18 at 428 Middle Grove Rd. See our vendors below. Keep an eye on our website and Facebook page for weekly updates on food vendors and entertainment!

“Our market is like no other,” said Recreation Director Jen Zeisler. “It is a perfect representation of our beautiful, rural town where neighbors enjoy neighbors and love supporting local small business.”

Zeisler said the market is inspired by the notion of families spending time together, outside on a summer evening. The town focuses on a shop, eat, play format with an emphasis on visitors joining each week and staying for the evening to let the kids play, enjoy the outdoors and the time with no technology.

SHOP
Visitors will find local vendors selling everything from baked goods to eggs, herbs, vegetables, fresh cut flowers, jams/jellies, wine, maple syrup products, pickles, pierogies, apparel, and more. There is also artisan merchandise like woodwork, glassware, homemade soaps, jewelry, candles, apparel, pottery herbal apothecary, handbags, and other gifts. Local winery Fossil Stone Vineyard and distillery Pick Six Vodka will sample and sell at the market as well.

EAT
Visitors can enjoy Thursday evening dinner (on site or take home) with rotating local food trucks each week. We will feature the wood-fired pizza truck from Fierro’s Pizzeria, barbecue from Kaleidoscope Café, Dave’s Fish Fry, Post Pizza, The Big Cheese gourmet grilled cheese sandwiches, Caribbean food from Joel’s Jerk Hut, and Lions Club hamburgers/hotdogs. Trucks will vary depending on date, which will be shared on town website (greenfieldny.gov) and social media for the market (@GreenfieldFarmers MarketNY). Left Field Shave Ice Truck will serve its frozen delicacy, a Hawaiian finely shaved ice in 16 flavors. The Main Squeeze truck will serve custom deluxe lemonades that resemble works of art. Many local bakers and farms offer homemade candies, cupcakes, cinnamon buns, breads, and other baked goods, which also make great treats at the market or to take home.

PLAY
Plenty of parking is available and the park features a large open playground for kids of all ages. Entertainment rotates each week and always includes live music. Specifics will be announced online. The market will have such things as a large inflatable obstacle course will be on the lawn, local fire trucks and fire hose water play and a live magician. Saratoga Springs Public Library’s Mobile Outreach Van will be present with books to borrow and story times. Country hoedowns will take place multiple weeks, with line dancing instruction in the middle of the market. Learn gardening tips from Cornell Cooperative Extension’s Master Gardeners and history from the Greenfield Historical Society.

“Our market is a way of celebrating our local businesses every single week of the summer,” said Town Supervisor Kevin Veitch. “We have grown the event into a place that Greenfield residents of all ages want to be each Thursday that reminds us all of the best childhood summer memories.”

The Town of Greenfield, known to residents as the “TOG,” celebrates its community spirit with its tagline “TOG: Better TOGether.” The Town Recreation Department revamped the market at the end of the 2023 season, when it took over its management from the Middle Grove United Methodist Church, who had managed the market since 2021. The Town of Greenfield is home to 8,200 residents in Greenfield, Porter Corners, Middle Grove, Lake Desolation and Maple Ave. It spans more than 41,000 acres of land bordering the Adirondacks and is the largest town in Saratoga County, by square mile.
