Our friends at Stewart’s Shops recently pitched in to clean up Locust Grove, as they do every year as part of the Adopt-a-Roadside program. Stewart’s reported it was the biggest number of volunteers to date and the crew included a mixture of partners from the manufacturing and distribution facilities, which is located right here in Greenfield.
Senior living property Prestwick Chase also recently had a large group of its residents to clean up its adopted roadway, Denton Road. We attached some recent press coverage below.
Did you know 24 town roads have been adopted as part of our Adopt-a-Roadside Program? Our program began in 1994 to help the Greenfield Highway Department keep town roadways free of trash and protect Greenfield’s water resources.
If you want to get involved call the Highway Dept. at 518-893-7604, ext. 103. We provide a street adoption sign as well as trash bags and safety vests. We are always looking for donations and people who would like to grow our program. Our long-time volunteer Theresa Ellsworth would love to train someone new to handle the administration of the program. It is an excellent way to give back to the TOG. Thanks to Theresa for her ongoing support as program administrator.
