TOG Farmers Market Spotlight: Linnie’s Perfectly Packaged Sweet Treats are Little Bites of Heaven

If biting into a scrumptious, fresh-baked cookie is your idea of heaven, then you need to try Linnie’s Sweet Treats at the market this week. These cookies are so specialty they are served in a little blue box, that honestly conjures up thoughts of those classy blue boxes that hold luxury jewelry on Fifth Ave in Manhattan.

These cookies and cake slices are as perfect to look at as they are to taste. Owner Lynne Wright joins the TOG market each week from her Ballston Spa home where she has been in the sweet treat business for the past year and a half. She brings approximately 40 cookies each week, all packaged in beautifully presented square blue dress boxes with a clear fitted lid. The cookies include her famous Linnie’s Linzettes (classic linzers with raspberry jam), along with chocolate chip, sugar, peanut butter and even a new chocolate M&M version. She often brings slices of vanilla and chocolate cakes and bundt cakes as well.

Wright says the difference in her cookies all comes from baking with the most exquisite ingredients she can find. That means they taste so good because of the highest quality European butter, Madacascar vanilla, King Arthur flour and Ghiradelli chocolate. She spends about 10 hours prepping the cookies each week. The small boxes range in cost from $6-$8. She likes to bring new flavors each week.

“I’ve had a life-long passion for eating and making treats,” Wright said. “It is very therapeutic for me if I’m upset or having a bad day to get lost in baking. The process and the smells in the air are very calming to me.”

Wright is a secretary by trade, who also spends her time volunteering at Frame of Mind Dog Training, LLC, a dog training facility at Milton Manor Pet Resort and Spa. Her beautiful cookies can be ordered online at linniessweettreatsllc.com or at the market each week at Middle Grove Park from 4-7 p.m. Wright also attends the Niskayuna Farmers Market, Avrill Park’s Farm Day, the Malta Craft Fair and at Blueberry Fest at Liberty Ridge, among other events.

She has loved joining the TOG market this year. “The people are so friendly here, and I love the beautiful park its located in,” Wright said.

Come visit her at this week’s market!
